Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.

The RDX Unfilled Sandbag takes the top spot in this guide, and it is £30.99 for a bag that turns up empty. It is an unfilled training sandbag: a 1200 Denier Cordura shell with a nylon lining, eight handles and inner bags you fill yourself. The listing states it plainly — "SOLD AS UNFILLED" — so the sand is both an extra cost and a job you take on after delivery.

It leads the guide because of the weight, and that is also where the listing needs reading carefully. The title runs to 2-90 KG, but the size field on this page says 5 to 25 LB, and the bullets split the range into four separate bags: small (5-25 LB) with one inner bag, medium (25-75 LB) with two, large (50-125 LB) with three. The item weight in the detail table is 500 g, which is the empty shell and insert rather than anything you train with. The title's 90 kg top end works out at roughly 198 lb, while the largest size named anywhere in the bullets is 125 LB. Everything here comes from the Amazon listing, not from any testing we carried out.

What buyers actually say

Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon

Verified purchase

“Extremely high quality adjustable strength training sandbag by RDX. Item has very robust quality about it with strong stitching and multiple handles. I purchased the 25 to 75 lbs bag which came with 2 internal sand bags (50 & 25 lbs) which require filling. The internal bags are made from the same high quality material. Great addition to my home gym. Very happy with this purchase.”

“This is a great bag, came with 2 size of internal filling bags for 30&50lbs, very well constructed and nice finish to it. Particularly impressed built the inner bags as had sand leaks on previous ones but should be ok with this one. Recommend that you fill with dry kiln sand vs builder sand, but either is good. Great for a variety of exercises particularly lunges.”

Questions people ask

Does the RDX Unfilled Sandbag arrive filled?

No. It is sold as unfilled, and the inner bags have to be filled by the buyer. The listing does not include sand.

Which size is this listing?

The size field says 5 to 25 LB, which is the small variation and comes with one inner unfilled bag. The bullets describe medium (25-75 LB) with two inner bags and large (50-125 LB) with three.

How many handles does the RDX Unfilled Sandbag have?

Eight, placed so you can hold, push or pull the bag in any direction. The stitching at the handles is described as reinforced cross stitching.

What is the bag made of?

1200 Denier (1200D) Cordura fabric with a nylon coating on the inside, which the listing gives as water resistance. The inner bags are described as leak-proof and water-resistant.

How heavy is the parcel?

The detail table gives an item weight of 500 g. That is the empty shell and inner bag, not the weight you train with.

What does the RDX range cover?

Four weight capacities. The bullets name small (5-25 LB) with one inner bag, medium (25-75 LB) with two inner bags and large (50-125 LB) with three inner bags, and describe a fourth, larger option.
