The Sportneer Turbo Trainer is a wheel-on magnetic trainer with six resistance settings changed from a bar-mounted remote. A front wheel riser block and a rear quick release lever come in the box, it fits bikes with a 26-28 inch or 700C wheel and a rear axle between 4.92 and 6.57 inches, and it is the number 10 entry in this guide at £81.69, rated 4.2 out of 5.

The figure worth checking on this listing is the rating count. The Customer Reviews field says 342 ratings, but the star breakdown printed below it adds up to 100: 60 five-star, 22 four-star, 8 three-star, 4 two-star and 6 one-star. The other odd field is Load Capacity, which reads "3E+2 Pounds" — scientific notation for 300 lb — while the bullet about the frame makes no weight claim at all, only that the alloy steel makes it heavier than other indoor bike trainers. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing itself, not from any testing we carried out.

What buyers actually say

“A great piece of kit for those who don't want to go out on the road all the time. It did take a bit to set up but the time is worth it tho make sure it's right. I did read other reviews that said the noise level was too much. Yes the vibration is loud but only when I was doing just over 16mph which I would only do out on the roads downhill with the wind behind me so from that point of view it's not an issue for me doing a steady 12mph. It is nice and solid and doesn't move around when you are on your bike. It is important for people to know you do need the skewer that comes with the trainer to clamp securely, it's solid unlike skewers that come with modern bikes. It is also important that you get a slick tyre to use they are more hard-wearing, road or knobby tyres are just not suitable for a turbo trainer. All in all, it is perfect for what I need it to do.”
