The middle plate holder does not take wide weights by happily takes 10kg plates. This definitely helps with stability as a counterbalance. The instructions show an adjustable spanner, I would recommend a 13mm socket or ratchet spanner. You will struggle otherwise to torque up the bolts enough in the bottom legs. Overall does the job and I am very pleased with it.”
