Rank #2 in Best Gaming Chairs 2026: 10 Ranked, Plus a 1,136 kg Capacity Claim
GTPLAYER GT829 Fabric Gaming Chair with Footrest
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The GTPLAYER GT829 is the runner-up in this guide: a fabric gaming chair at £139.99, rated 4.5 out of 5 from 569 ratings and ranked 33rd in Amazon's Computer Gaming Chairs category. It advertises a 70 cm base, a 10 cm height adjustment, a 90°–165° recline and a seat the advert says is "20% larger than the standard models". What it never publishes is a maximum weight — no figure at all, in a set of chairs where every stated capacity runs from 120 kg to 200 kg. That is the opposite problem to the rest of this guide: not an inflated number, but an absent one, which leaves the 70 cm base and the BIFMA test claim as the only load-related statements the advert makes.
The numbers it does lean on are unauditable rather than wrong. "20% larger" is a percentage with no base measurement, so there is nothing to check it against; the 70 cm chair leg is compared with "other chairs with a 64 cm diameter chair leg" without saying which chairs those are. There is also an internal mismatch in the advert itself: the title advertises a footrest and lumbar support, while the specification table's Included Components field lists only "Arm Pad". Every price, rating and specification on this page comes from the Amazon listing as it stands, not from any chair we have sat in or tested.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“I've been using the chat for 6 weeks now and I think it's great. Before buying it I did see quite a few negative reviews as well as the positive ones. These almost put me off getting it but in the end I took the risk and I'm so glad I did. The chair looks really nice, is very comfortable and robust. I do confess that I'm certainly no teenager and I'm about 11 stone, so maybe meet frame doesn't test it to its full. But for it's money I think it's a great gaming chair”
Verified purchase“I use the chair about 12 hours a dayVery comfy as long as you get up at least once an hour great chair for gaming and office workReally easy to put togetherTakes five minutesBut the chair is heavySo if you have to carry upstairs like meJust remember, it's heavy and awkwardWill definitely recommendedGet more comfy overtime when it moves it so to your shape of your ass lol”

Questions people ask
Does the GTPLAYER GT829 have a maximum weight limit?
The listing gives none. There is no weight capacity figure in the GT829's bullets or its specification table, so the 70 cm base and the BIFMA test claim are the only load-related statements the advert makes.
How much is the GTPLAYER GT829?
£139.99 as listed, with a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 569 ratings.
What is the seat covered in?
The listing says the GT829 is covered in fabric rather than PU leather, over high-density cold cure foam, and its fabric bullet argues against PU leather on sweating in hot weather and feeling cold in winter.
How far back does the GTPLAYER GT829 recline?
The multi-adjustments bullet gives 90° to 165°, alongside 10 cm of height adjustment and a 360° swivel seat.
Does the GTPLAYER GT829 suit children and adults?
The listing claims the 10 cm height range suits children, teenagers and adults, but it publishes no user height or weight range to check that against.
What is different about the base?
The listing states a 70 cm diameter chair leg against "other chairs with a 64 cm diameter chair leg", and says the base is BIFMA tested with an SGS certified gas lift. It does not say which chairs the 64 cm figure comes from.
