Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The Candy Quick Pro is a 10 kg, 1400 rpm freestanding washing machine at £279, the lowest price of the ten machines in this guide. Candy rates it A-20% on energy, meaning 20% below the threshold for A class, and the Amazon listing carries 4.5 out of 5 from 338 ratings. It takes the top spot here.
It reads well once you read the star breakdown correctly. Candy's bars are 6% one star, 1% two, 5% three, 9% four and 79% five — they add up to exactly 100, so they are shares of those 338 ratings, not counts of them. On the share that matters most to a buyer, one-star, this machine sits at 6%. The same page is less tidy in other places: the first bullet calls the machine a Hoover while the title says Candy; the dimensions field reads 85D x 55W x 85H centimetres and the item depth field repeats 85 centimetres, so the listing describes a machine that is 85 cm deep as well as 85 cm tall; and the operation mode is given as Semi Automatic on a page that also describes a front-load, freestanding machine with a push-button digital display and 16 programmes. Everything on this page comes from Candy's Amazon listing — we have not tested this machine.

Questions people ask
How many ratings does the Candy Quick Pro have?
The listing shows 4.5 out of 5 from 338 ratings, with 79% of the star bars on five stars and 6% on one star.
Does the star breakdown mean 79 five-star reviews?
No. Candy's five bars add up to exactly 100 (6+1+5+9+79), so they are percentage shares of the 338 ratings rather than counts.
What are the Candy Quick Pro's dimensions?
The listing's dimensions field reads 85D x 55W x 85H centimetres, and the item depth field repeats 85 centimetres, so the page describes a machine 85 cm deep and 85 cm tall. We have not measured it.
Is it a noisy machine?
Candy lists 72 decibels. Reviewers describe the spin as quiet, one saying it was quieter than their old machine — that is buyer opinion, not a measurement.
What wash cycles does it have?
Candy says 16 programmes, including eight quick wash cycles, a 14-minute rapid wash and a 39-minute cycle for mixed fabrics.
Is the Candy Quick Pro semi-automatic?
The spec table's operation mode field says Semi Automatic, while the same page lists a front-load, freestanding machine with a push-button digital display and 16 programmes. Those two descriptions do not agree.
