Rank #6 in Best 9kg Washing Machine 2026: 9 Ranked, and Three Counts That Do Not Add Up
Midea 9kg 1400rpm Slim BLDC Washing Machine, White
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The Midea 9kg washing machine sits at number 6 in this guide at £269.00, with a 4.3 average from 52 Amazon ratings. The histogram behind that average is not a gentle curve: 76% of those ratings are five stars and 9 of the 52 are one star. It is a freestanding front-load machine with a 9 kg drum, a 1400 rpm maximum spin, a BLDC inverter motor and a stainless steel drum, and the listing leans hard on two figures - a 495 mm cabinet depth described as "about 10% shallower than standard models", and a motor said to run "quietly, similar to a normal conversation".
Both of those figures run into other numbers on the same page. The depth bullet itself adds a maximum of 553 mm once the knob and rear connections are counted, which is 58 mm more than the headline depth; and if 495 mm really is 10% shallower than a standard machine, then a standard machine is around 550 mm, so the 553 mm figure is not shallower than standard at all. The noise bullet's "normal conversation" meets a spec table that records 72 decibels. On programmes, the Midea is the straightforward one in this guide: 15 are listed, with no app counted in alongside them. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing, not from testing we carried out ourselves.
How those 52 ratings break down
An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.3 stars.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“Happy with this washer so far, easy to use and washes clothes well. It does make more noise than I was expecting especially on high spin with a full load and the detergent tray rattles. The team who fitted it didn't leave a feet adjustment spanner in case I ever need to adjust the feet. The item also advertises a 10-year Motor Warranty but there's no mention of it in the documents you get with it. These two downsides are only minor though. All in all not a bad washer for the price.”
Verified purchase“Seems a great washer, default settings could be a little better. I.e quick wash being hotter than 20c and a spin higher than 800rpm.Additionally, instructions could be rewritten into English instead of literally translated so they make sense.Would have loved it it even more if id waited a week and saved£90 on Prime day.”
