Rank #1 in Best Angle Grinder 2026: 10 Ranked, and the Wattage Claims That Fail
Bosch Professional GWS 7-125 Angle Grinder, 720W, 125mm
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The Bosch Professional GWS 7-125 is the corded 720 W angle grinder that sits at number one in this guide. It takes a 125 mm disc, runs at 11,000 RPM from a 230 volt supply, and is listed at £78.64 with a rating of 4.7 from 21,959 reviews. Bosch sells it in a carton with an auxiliary handle, backing flange, protective guard, locking nut and a two-hole spanner.
The reason it leads comes down to the plainest number in the whole article: 720 W is a figure a domestic socket can actually deliver, and it is the kind of number only the mains machines here quote. The rest of the sheet is less tidy. The wattage field reads 720 and the horsepower field reads 720 as well — the same figure in two different units, which as a horsepower rating no angle grinder has. The weight is given twice too: 2 kg in the spec table, 1.9 kg in the bullet above it. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing for this model; we have not tested it ourselves.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“Bought to replace a 30 year old black and decker , seems much more powerful cuts quicker, don't know wether it will outlast the previous machine but very happy with the tool.”
Verified purchase“The Bosch GWS 7-125 is the best angle grinder in this category in my opinion, and I've bought 2 of them, one is set up for cutting and one for grinding / sanding etc. The slim grip makes a big difference to how long you can use it without hand fatigue. The125mm disc diameter is a useful increase over the more common 41⁄2"/115mm type. Lightweight but powerful. My Makita angle grinders are now second choice, and tend to remain unused. I had to import this because no-one seemed to stock it in the UK, for some reason.”

Questions people ask
Is the Bosch GWS 7-125 corded or cordless?
Corded. The listing gives the power source as Corded Electric and the voltage as 230 volts, so it runs from a domestic socket.
How much power does it draw?
The listing states 720 W, with a 125 mm disc diameter and a maximum rotational speed of 11,000 RPM.
Does it really produce 720 horsepower?
The spec table lists 720 in the horsepower field, which is identical to the 720 W wattage figure. It is the same number in two units, and 720 hp is not a figure this 230 volt tool can produce.

Two figures appear in the same listing: the bullet says 1.9 kg and the spec table says 2 kg. The bullet also quotes a gripping circumference of 176 mm.
What is included in the carton?
