Verified purchase“I've previously used earlier Philips Sonic models until they failed after fairly good service lives. They were so old they used NiMH rather than lithium power cells and they were bulky and heavy. This is the best Philips model that I have used so far. I think that it is the lowest cost one in the current range. The cleaning action is vigorous and efficient with no unnecessary features. A green LED stays on or flashes for a short period after each use to show when it needs charging.However, unless you are living in a caravan or on the road, I can't see the advantage of the new USB powered charging bases. These require the use of a spare phone type charger plugged into a 3 pin mains socket which is not usually available in bathrooms. The old models came with a simple inductive charging base that plugs into a 2 pin isolated 120/230 VAC bathroom shaving socket or a 3 pin mains plug adapter. Luckily, I kept one of my old AC powered charging bases and find that it is compatible with this new toothbrush.”
