Rank #1 in Best Sliding Door Wardrobes: 10 Ranked, and Why the Shelf Count Doesn't Match the Width
German Sliding Wardrobe Full Mirror 250cm with LED
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The German Sliding Wardrobe Modern Double Full Mirror sliding door wardrobe sits at number one in our guide, and it is the clearest example of the problem the whole guide is about. A single Amazon advert covers six widths — 100cm, 120cm, 150cm, 180cm, 203cm and 250cm — and five finishes (White, Black, Grey and Oak), with one price shown against the listing rather than one price per size. The version priced at £485.00 is the 250cm in White. The title promises a full double mirror and one LED light, and the bullet points narrow that down: "Sliding Mirror Wardrobe (100cm with 1 LED Light) (250cm with 1 LED Light)", so the LED is named for the smallest and the largest versions.
What the advert does not do is split its storage figures by width. The specification table gives 8 shelves and 3 drawers as flat numbers for the product, without saying which of the six widths they belong to, and the drawer count sits in the same table as "Included Components: Shelves" — so the one item the listing actually says is in the box is the shelves. At 124 ratings the wardrobe scores 4.0 out of 5, with 61 of those ratings at five stars and 13 at one star. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon advert as it stood when we wrote it; we have not assembled, measured or tested this wardrobe ourselves.

An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.0 stars.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“It really is very beautiful, strong, and sturdy, and the space is great. The only downside was the experience with the third-party delivery team; they tried to charge me extra money to complete the delivery.”
Verified purchase“Very substantial and sturdy arrived on time. Delivery guys were brilliant. Built it in a few hours by myself but it is very heavy to stand upright and position by yourself.”

Questions people ask
What does the £485.00 price actually buy?
The listing shows £485.00 against the 250cm width in White. The same advert also covers 100cm, 120cm, 150cm, 180cm and 203cm and the Black, Grey and Oak finishes, so the price you pay depends on the variation you select.
Does the German Sliding Wardrobe come with an LED light?
Yes, but only for the sizes the advert names. The bullet point reads "Sliding Mirror Wardrobe (100cm with 1 LED Light) (250cm with 1 LED Light)", so the LED is stated for the 100cm and the 250cm versions.
How many shelves and drawers does it have?
The specification table lists 8 shelves and 3 drawers, but it does not say which of the six widths those two figures apply to. "Included Components" lists only shelves.
Does it arrive assembled?
No. The listing states that assembly is required and that assembly instructions are provided, and the manufacturer describes the wardrobe as flat pack.
What is the German Sliding Wardrobe made of?
The material and top material are both given as engineered wood and oak, with a wipe-with-a-dry-cloth care instruction and a described finish of "rich colours with a beautifully elegant finish".
What do buyers say about it?
It holds 4.0 out of 5 from 124 ratings. One buyer calls it beautiful, strong and sturdy with great space; another says the instructions are pretty poor and that it took two people to build.
