Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The Shark S1000UK leads this ranking and the listing is unusually complete for a steam mop: a 375 millilitre tank, 1050 watts of power, a 30 second heat-up, machine washable pads, corded operation and a chemical-free method, in a 1.8 kilogram body measuring 15 by 17 by 61 centimetres in white and green, under model S1000UK.
Machine washable pads are the number to weigh over a year of ownership: a steam mop is only as good as its pads, and being able to wash rather than rebuy them is the real running cost. At the time of collection it carried 6,545 ratings at 4.4 stars. Everything here comes from the Amazon listing rather than our own testing.
How those 6,545 ratings break down
An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.4 stars.
