The Lumberjack BDE1200 is a 50-litre corded workshop dust extractor, listed at £119.99 with 4.3 out of 5 from 381 ratings. It sits at number seven in this guide: not the cheapest way to pull dust out of a workshop, but the only one here whose listing quotes filtration down to 0.5 microns through a filter bag and a HEPA filter, driven by a 1200W motor on 230V mains.

The number that does not fit is in the listing's own special features field, which describes the machine as compact, lightweight and portable — beside product dimensions of 71.6 x 43 x 43 cm and an item weight of 10.4 kg. The rating breakdown has the same trouble in reverse: 68 five-star, 16 four-star, 7 three-star, 3 two-star and 6 one-star add up to 100 votes, while the same page reports 381 ratings. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing rather than from our own testing.

What buyers actually say

Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon

Verified purchase

“A very powerful shop extractor. When I had the 100mm hose fitted, I accidently blocked the end of the hose. The suction was enough to lift the whole unit from the floor, slamming it into the workbench. So be careful, this thing could suck-start a jumbo-jet.I had to use the smaller 35mm hose that is included with the extractor to reduce the suction a little. My workshop is now clear of dust when using my CNC router, I am very pleased with the performance of this machine, the only negative points I can comment on is the noise this extractor makes, it is quite loud in use, and the motor feels quite hot to the touch after extended use.”

“Good item. Plenty of connection fitting options. Excellent suction. Was a little concerned over noise levels but these were not a problem.”
