Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.

The Tineco iFLOOR 5 Breeze Complete is a cordless floor washer rather than a plain vacuum: it lifts wet and dry messes and washes sealed hard floors in one pass, then rinses its roller and tubing when you press the self-cleaning button. It sits sixth in this guide at £179.00, with a 4.4 average from 87 ratings, and the listing claims a water tank 30% larger than the iFLOOR 3 Series.

Two things in that same listing do not agree with each other. The star bars add up to 100 — 74 five-star, 11 four-star, 5 three-star, 1 two-star and 9 one-star — while the line above them says 87 ratings. And the suction field reads "1064 Inches"; an inch measures length, so that number says nothing about how hard the machine pulls. The voltage field says 120 Volts, the North American mains figure rather than the 230V used in Britain, so check the charger before ordering. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing, not from a test we ran.

“I did a fair bit of research before buying this hoover mop. Listen, it's got its flaws but overall it's a good product (albeit a bit of a luxury). Generally it cleans the floor well (crumbs, sticky residue). However, my one year old loves to slam fruit onto the floor and if it's left for a while and becomes super sticky, the hover mop will not remove it. Also bear in mind you should remove the roller and empty the dirty water every day because otherwise it will have a foul odour when the hoover mop is in use.I decided to buy this after removing the carpet in our house and getting flooring. It's definitely made me clean the floor more regularly but it's no better than a traditional hoover and separate mop. But don't get me wrong it's a good product. I really like it.”

“Have been wanting a dry/wet mop for ages but didn't buy one because I didn't want to be disappointed. My friend recommended this one and I am certainly not disappointed! It's exactly what I've been looking for. It picks up bits easily and cleans beautifully with strong suction. It's so easy to quickly use it after dinner to clean up the bits of food dropped by kids that you can really just keep on top of the mess every day. I love using it because it's not a faff to set up or clean. You do have to empty the dirty tank and rinse and dry the filter but that takes seconds and the machine does the hard job of cleaning the roller. No complains at all. I just hope it lasts!”

Questions people ask

How long does the Tineco iFLOOR 5 Breeze Complete run on one charge?

The listing gives a runtime of 35 minutes and describes it in the features as "Up to 35 mins runtime". No recharge time is stated.

Does it vacuum and mop at the same time?

Tineco lists it as "Vacuum and Mop in One Step", for wet or dry messes on sealed hard floors including hardwood, tile, marble and laminate.

What suction does the Tineco iFLOOR 5 Breeze Complete have?

The specification field reads "1064 Inches". Inches measure length, not suction, and the listing gives no airwatts or pascals figure to compare against a corded wet-dry vacuum.

How many people have rated it?

The rating line shows 4.4 from 87 ratings, but the star bars underneath add up to 100: 74 five-star, 11 four-star, 5 three-star, 1 two-star and 9 one-star. The two figures cannot both be right.

Will the Tineco iFLOOR 5 Breeze Complete work from a British socket?

It is listed as cordless and battery powered with a lithium-ion battery, so it runs off its own cells. The voltage field, however, quotes 120 Volts rather than the 230V used in Britain, so check the adaptor and charging base before buying.

Does it clean right up to the skirting board?

Tineco's "Enhanced Edge Cleaning" is listed as reaching edges and corners as narrow as 0.20 inches, and the spec sheet recommends the machine for hard floor, hardwoods, laminate and multi-surface use.
