The same unit also warms baby food and runs a defrost cycle for frozen milk. There is no timer to set and no display to misread. Nothing is dishwasher safe, and it is not portable, so it lives on a counter beside a socket.

That said, 10 of the 2,217 ratings are 1 or 2 stars. A 400W element in a plastic body is a different proposition from a water bath. If you need a portable bottle warmer, nothing in this box runs on a battery, and the boiling function is not sterilising.

The bullets also say 0.61kg while the weight field says 940g.

As a result, buy this for the battery, not for the numbers. If you feed entirely at home, the £35 Tommee Tippee does the job from a socket for about half the price. And 4.6 comes from 564 reviews, roughly a twentieth of the sample behind the top-ranked unit.

The catch: 229 reviews at 4.3 is a small sample next to the 3,212 behind the unit at number two, and 9 buyers gave it one star. If it is going in a bag, this is not the one. Note the MAM anti-colic instruction as well — you have to select silicone mode.
