Verified purchase“Fantastic Dutch pot.I've seen a few reviews about it rusting after being washed. This is expected of an iron pot. Iron pots and pans need to be seasoned and care needs to be taken when washing.It was pre-seasoned but I washed it when I received it (who knows who's hands have been on it lol) then I seasoned it in my oven several times and now it is absolutely perfect.For those who don't know how to season it, Google will have great instructions. But you can just wash it and then add a thin coating of vegetable or sunflower oil and coat the entire pot once it's fully dry. This will prevent rusting.It's very, very heavy so be very careful when taking it in and out of the oven. I accidentally dropped it on my glass oven door and shattered the door 3 days before Christmas (DOH) lol... I'm still finding shards of glass 4 months later lol.Don't be like me! Use fabric oven gloves! I used silicone oven gloves and with the seasoning of the pot it can be slippy when using silicone gloves. The pot slipped right out of my hands.I'll definitely be buying another but in a larger size.”
