Rank #5 in Best Free Standing Punch Bag 2026: 10 Ranked, Numbers Fact-Checked
RDX XXL 6FT Freestanding Punch Bag, 183cm
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The RDX XXL sits at number 5 in this guide. It is a freestanding pedestal punch bag on a wide octa truss base with eight extended legs, listed at 6FT (183cm) tall, finished in golden, at £164.99 with 4.3 stars from 657 ratings. RDX also lists it with gloves, patent-pending target markings printed on the bag, and a removable lower protector around the connector.
The number worth checking is in the product name. The bag is sold as "XXL 150KG", and the Item Weight field repeats 150 kg — but the bullet that explains how to fill it says the base takes 130 kg of sand or 80 litres of water. Those are two different figures inside one listing, and nothing in the listing says which one the 150KG refers to. The same kind of gap shows up in the dimensions: the bullets describe a 110cm circumference, while the spec table lists 110W x 183H centimetres, using that same 110 as a width. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing for this product, not from a bag we have filled, hit or tested ourselves.
How those 657 ratings break down
An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.3 stars.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“I agonised over which free standing punch bag to get. Watched endless videos, read numerous reviews and eventually settled on the RDX XXL.Why the dilemma and why this one ultimately. Anyone reading this will probably already know that free standing will never beat hanging and all will have the same concern, 'is this stable, will it fall over, wobble or in any way make me feel like I can't hit it hard'! I was the same, here is my setup and HONEST review..Setup... filled to the brim with water, stood on a hard (laminated) floor in our home gym (garden room) with the feet tucked in (not extended).First of all, does it wobble, does the base lift or tilt when hit?... Short answer NO, its stable and the base does not move. You can see the base flexing wanting to lift or tilt, but so far it has stayed glued to the floor! I can hit it with punch combinations without having to feel like I'm pulling the power. It works and will provide my wife and I an excellent option for cardio (or frustration) workouts. The caveat... I'm 6ft and can hit relatively hard, I'm not a trained fighter, I don't do kicks, I wear boxing gloves and only when I hit it very near the top, does it seem like it wants to un-fix the base. Note it hasn't yet!If you are a trained fighter and plan to mix in MMA style kicks and punches, you will find the limit of the water fill, I would go sand and even then a big trained guy going full force will find its limit. For me (and my wife) we can go all in with the water fill, on a hard smooth surface and it performs brilliantly. The base DOES NOT move, lift or wobble!Very happy customer”
Verified purchase“Was a bit sceptical ordering this after having done muay thai for 20 years. Thought i would just get one to keep fit in the garden and it stands up to heavy blows. Not amazing with just water but with sand in the base it doesn't budge.”

Questions people ask
Does the RDX XXL weigh 150kg?
The product name says 150KG and the Item Weight field says 150 kg, but the filling bullet says the base takes 130 kg of sand or 80 litres of water. The listing carries both figures and does not say which is which.
How tall is the RDX XXL?
The name and the bullets both say 6FT (183cm), and the Item Dimensions field gives 183H centimetres.
Is the bag 110cm wide or 110cm around?
The bullet says the RDX XXL has a 110cm circumference. The spec table puts the same 110 figure in a width column, as 110W x 183H centimetres, so the listing uses it two different ways.
How many boxes does the RDX XXL arrive in?
The Number of Packs field says 2, and the bullets say the kit is sent in two separate deliveries that usually, but not always, arrive together.
Does the RDX XXL kit include gloves?
The product name says it comes with gloves, but the Included Components field says "Nil", so the listing contradicts itself on what is in the box.
What do buyers say about the base?
The reviews on the listing include a buyer who says the RDX XXL is not amazing with just water but does not budge once sand is in the base, which matches the listing's own choice of 130 kg of sand or 80 litres of water.
