The iCAN X-15 is a folding Class 2 mobility scooter, listed in black at £649.99 with a 4 mph top speed, up to 15 miles of range and an 18kg frame. It sits at number one in this guide and carries the highest customer score of anything here: 4.8 out of 5. That rating is also the first number to come apart. The listing says the 4.8 comes from 48 ratings. The breakdown on the same page lists 81 five-star, 18 four-star and 1 one-star review, which totals 100 votes — and 100 is the only figure the average supports, because 81 fives, 18 fours and a single one-star give 4.78, which rounds to the 4.8 shown. At 48 ratings, that breakdown cannot be right.
The rest of the sheet behaves the same way. The X-15 is sold in three colours at £649.99 each, and this black one quotes 4 mph and 94.5 x 50.5 x 90 cm while the grey one quotes 6 kmph and 100 x 55 x 100 cm. Closer to home, the bullets give a folded size of 315 x 505 x 745mm against product dimensions of 94.5 x 50.5 x 90 cm when open — a 505mm width in both states. Note too that the 18kg weight excludes the battery, which adds roughly 1kg. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing; we have not tested the scooter ourselves.

An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.8 stars.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“Great scooter only scooter I've had with a spare battery as well as the original and when they cost over a £100 to buy I think that is brilliantVery easy to open and close and very light in weightI would recommend this scooter to anyoneAnother thing the customer service were fabulous explained everything I needed to know in one go”
Verified purchase“Super scooter. I bought a portable scooter for my dad a few years ago for treble the price of this and it was so heavy in parts and took up so much car space. I bought this for a friend last week and we are really pleased with it. It's comfortable and feels really sturdy and solid for a smaller scooter. It folds really easily and fits easily into. the boot of her Ford Puma. Some women may possibly find it a little heavy to lift off the floor. We found it easier to lift up to a car by holding it flat rather than from the top. The batteries just take a few goes to understand how to push them up off the internal Velcro to take out for charging. It is good that it comes with a second battery. We tested it out taking the dogs for a walk, it coped across a grassed area and a rough road and a bit of gravel. All in all a really good value piece of equipment. Plus very swift delivery! The other good feature is it has a lever to change to push mode, from experience of other scooters this is really handy for some awkward or steep places.”
