The BEST CHOICE Multi Gym Cable Machine is a home cable station built around a 90 kg weight stack, listed at £559.99 and rated 4.5 out of 5 from 75 ratings. It sits at number four in our guide to multi gyms, and the bullets claim 50+ exercises covering lat pulldowns, pec deck, flies and curls from a single machine.

The weight figures on the listing do not settle on one story. The bullets promise a 90 KG stack; the spec sheet then adds a Tension Supported of 300 kg and a Maximum Weight Recommendation of 198 Kilograms — the same figure as the machine's own Item Weight of 198 kg, so the page never states a separate user-load limit. The brand is split as well: the product name and bullets say BEST CHOICE, while the spec sheet's Brand Name and Manufacturer both read Senshi Japan, and Included Components refers to a Senshi V5 Multi Gym. The rating breakdown is worth a look too — the five star bars (73, 16, 7 and 4) add up to 100 reviews next to a figure of 75. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing, not from a test we ran.

What buyers actually say

“It's a workout putting it together took me 6 hours and I'm good with the spanners. Diagrams are naff and some of the hardware doesn't match descriptions. Lay it all out starting with the bigger box then the smaller box with the nuts and bolts in it. There are six boxes. 1 main body. 2 attaching parts and fixings boxes. 3 weight plate boxes. All items are bagged, be prepared for unpacking which is a good thing. You will need 17mm spanners, 6mm Allen key 10mm spanner and a 14.I hope this helps.”

“Really nice sturdy multigym, easy to put together on your own, took me around 4 hours.. but had some help towards the end. Would have benefited from some kind of free laminated wall chart in the box to show you roughly what the 50+ exercises are as we can only work out around 26 at present. All in all though a robust, strong gym.”

Questions people ask

How much weight comes with the BEST CHOICE multi gym?

The listing says it comes with a 90 KG weight stack, and the Included Components field repeats "90KG Weight Stack, Senshi V5 Multi Gym". The 300 kg Tension Supported figure is a separate line on the spec sheet and is not described as the stack.

What is the maximum weight the machine takes?

The spec sheet gives a Maximum Weight Recommendation of 198 Kilograms, which is the same number as the Item Weight of 198 kg, so the listing does not provide a separate user-load rating.

Who makes it?

The product name and bullets say BEST CHOICE, but the spec sheet lists the Brand Name and Manufacturer as Senshi Japan, and the Included Components mention a Senshi V5 Multi Gym.

How many exercises does it cover?

The bullets claim 50+ exercises including lat pulldowns, pec deck, flies and curls. One reviewer says he could only work out around 26 without a chart in the box.

How long does assembly take?

Reviewers put it between four and six hours. One buyer assembled it alone over a couple of days, and another notes six boxes with fixings bagged separately and diagrams they describe as naff.

What are the dimensions and finish?

The listing gives 179D x 110W x 217H centimetres, in Black & Red, with an alloy steel frame and wipe-clean seat and back rest covers.
