The GYM MASTER Open Olympic Trap Style Rickshaw Bar Deadlift is an open-back trap bar — GYM MASTER calls it a rickshaw — with a 30 mm grip diameter and a matte black powder-coated finish. At £79.99 it is not the cheapest entry, but it carries the biggest load number in the guide: 300 kg, next to the 400 lb on the £65.23 bar and the 500 lb on the 20 kg Titan. It is rated 4.5 out of 5 from 17 ratings.
The same bullet that promises 300 kg takes part of it back. The listing qualifies the figure with "when lowered carefully", states that this rickshaw must not be dropped, and warns that a dropped bar buckles and that the resulting damage will be obvious. It also says the bar is not suitable for commercial use, so 300 kg is a home-gym ceiling on a bar you are told never to release. Verified purchase“Its been 6 months since I purchased this. Hands down the top piece of kit for a hone gym. I injured my back doing dradlifts for the first time in my 50s, fortunately nothing bad, but after that I was looking for something safer. I bought this and its spot on. Took my back exactly out of the danger zone, increases work on the quads which is great for a home gym setup. Im 5 foot 6 and this seems to be the closest thing tp free weights while being safe for the lower back overall, and really putting emphasis on the quads as well as the whole squatting/dradlift muscles.Loading Olympic plates, Id start with 50kg, x2 as a warmup, the machine still has room at the bottom when loading them, so you dont need to lift the bar, nor have a deadlift wrench, which id purchased for £50 doing Olympic bar beadlifts previously.Additionally, I've found it great for bent over rows.For the price, id recommend this bar perhaps over any home gym purchase I've made, including my Powerblock Dumbells.If I were to only have a few bits or home gym stuff, id go this rickshaw bar, dip bars and chin up bar.”
