The Midea 10kg front-load washing machine sits seventh in this guide at £299, carrying a 4.3 out of 5 rating from 52 ratings. It is a 1400 rpm machine with a BLDC inverter motor, 15 programmes and an A-10% energy class, which the listing describes as up to 10% more efficient than standard A-class models and around 40% less electricity than a D-class machine. The selling point is size: a body depth of 535 mm, which the bullet says is roughly 10% shallower than standard models.

The thing to check on this listing is its own dimensions field. It reads "53.5D x 53.5W x 53.5H centimetres" — three identical figures, which would make the machine a 53.5 cm cube — while the bullet on the same page says the 535 mm figure is the depth and that the machine reaches 589 mm once the knob and rear connections are counted. The spec table also lists 72 decibels, next to a bullet describing the BLDC motor as running "similar to a normal conversation". Every figure on this page is copied from the Amazon listing; we have not tested this machine ourselves.

What buyers actually say

Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon

Verified purchase

“Happy with this washer so far, easy to use and washes clothes well. It does make more noise than I was expecting especially on high spin with a full load and the detergent tray rattles. The team who fitted it didn't leave a feet adjustment spanner in case I ever need to adjust the feet. The item also advertises a 10-year Motor Warranty but there's no mention of it in the documents you get with it. These two downsides are only minor though. All in all not a bad washer for the price.”

“Seems a great washer, default settings could be a little better. I.e quick wash being hotter than 20c and a spin higher than 800rpm.Additionally, instructions could be rewritten into English instead of literally translated so they make sense.Would have loved it it even more if id waited a week and saved£90 on Prime day.”
