Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.

The Core 300S is one of two Levoit models in this ranking, and the difference between them is room size rather than features: the listing quotes a CADR of 258 cubic metres per hour for this one, with a laser air quality sensor, HEPA filtration to a 0.03 micrometre particle retention size, a 24 decibel noise figure and 39 watts of draw, at 3 kilograms and 22 by 22 by 36 centimetres.

A laser PM2.5 sensor is what allows the auto mode to react to what is actually in the air rather than to a timer, which is the reason to pick a smart purifier over a dumb one. At the time of collection it carried 23,251 ratings at 4.6 stars. Note that Amazon pools the ratings for the two Levoit models here, so both show the same count. Everything here comes from the Amazon listing rather than our own testing.

What buyers actually say

“I’ve tried several air purifiers over the years, mostly because I suffer from mild allergies and wanted something to improve the air quality in both the bedroom and living areas. The LEVOIT Smart HEPA Air Purifier (Core 200S) has quickly become my favourite — it’s quiet, effective, and genuinely easy to use.I first purchased it for the bedroom, which is about 20m², but it’s rated for rooms up to 64m², so I knew it could handle a living room or study as well. Setup was effortless: unbox, plug in, download the app, and it was ready to go. Connecting to Wi-Fi and Alexa was straightforward, and I love being able to control it from my phone or with a voice command — I can turn it on or off, adjust fan speed, or set a timer without leaving the bed.The purifier is surprisingly quiet, especially on Sleep Mode. Even at night, the white noise is soft and unobtrusive, and it doesn’t disturb sleep. Despite being quiet, it still feels very effective. Within a few days, I noticed less dust settling on surfaces and fewer allergy irritations in the mornings — sneezing and congestion had visibly improved. Smoke from cooking and minor odours disappear quickly, which is a huge bonus for a small kitchen-adjacent space.Changing the filter is simple, and the LEVOIT app reminds me when it’s time, which makes maintenance hassle-free. The design is sleek and modern, so it blends seamlessly into the room without being an eyesore, and the touch controls on the device itself are intuitive if you don’t want to use the app.Overall, this purifier has made a noticeable difference to the air quality in my home. It’s quiet, effective, and easy to control, and it genuinely seems to reduce allergens, dust, and odours. I’d highly recommend the LEVOIT Core 200S to anyone looking for a reliable, user-friendly air purifier that works well for bedrooms or larger rooms alike — it’s a worthwhile investment for comfort, health, and peace of mind.”

“I ordered the Levoit 200 air purifier as I suffer from asthma as well as allergies to dust that make me itch. Despite damp dusting I still suffer. Also have two dogs. The unit feels solid and of very good quality. Not overly heavy but a reassuring weight. The bottom half of the unit is removed by a small twist and is locked on the same. The HEPA filter is installed into the purifier this way.The unit can be controlled by the top panel which is quite easy to understand or by a VeSync app. This works very well and can control the unit from anywhere. If you set it to auto it will even alert you when air quality is reduced and increases airflow. Connecting is easy and so far has been very dependable.Does it work? Oh yes! Almost immediately I noticed the difference. Fresh cleaner air and allergic relief. The settings can be changed manually for the required power. There is a sleep mode that runs at the quietest setting whilst still filtering the air.I have also bought the larger 300 version for my sitting room. Both are run from the app too.As an example of the power and effectiveness of the purifier it was running when I changed carpets and undertook some work in the bedroom- the amount of dust and debris it captured is incredible. The filter looks grim but better than breathing it in. Very highly recommended and great value for money.”
