mcc direct Suede Dining Chairs

Is the mcc direct Suede Dining Chairs worth buying?

Yes, the mcc direct Suede Dining Chairs are worth buying if you want four upholstered seats for £79.99, which is £20 a chair, in a matte dark grey that hides everyday marks. 716 owners rate them 4.6, and at 21.7 kg for the whole set they are light enough for one person to carry. They suit a dining room that wants a softer finish than bare metal or plain black PU.

They are less suited to a patio, because they are indoor chairs, and to a household that needs a higher weight capacity, where the Amazon Basics Metal Dining Chairs at 149.6 kg are the safer buy. The set also comes in one colour only, dark grey.

How much do the mcc direct Suede Dining Chairs cost per chair?

The mcc direct Suede Dining Chairs work out at £20.00 a chair, because the four-seat set costs £79.99. Divide the price by four and you get £20.00, which is £2.50 more per chair than the mcc direct White Dining Chairs at £17.50 each, and £11.67 less per chair than the Amazon Basics Metal Dining Chairs at £31.67 each.

That £20.00 buys you a matte suede finish that hides fingerprints and light scuffs better than a plain PU seat. The whole set weighs 21.7 kg, so about 5.4 kg a chair, which is light for an upholstered chair and makes them easy to move when you clean the floor.

What comes in the box and how do you live with the mcc direct Suede Dining Chairs?

You get four chairs, each measuring 54 cm deep, 43 cm wide and 88 cm tall. The frame is metal, and the seat and back are upholstered in faux matte suede leather over faux leather. The set weighs 21.7 kg in total, so one person can carry the box.

The chairs are for indoor dining rooms and the care is simple: wipe clean. The upholstery is faux matte suede leather, so a damp cloth is enough for everyday spills. The back is a solid upholstered panel.

Where do the mcc direct Suede Dining Chairs fall short?

The 43 cm seat width is the narrowest of the top five sets here, so a broad adult will feel the sides more than on the 49 cm mcc direct White Dining Chairs. The chairs are also for indoor use only, which rules out a patio or a damp conservatory.

Dark grey is the only colour, so you cannot match a beige or brown room without looking elsewhere. And the back is a solid upholstered panel with no give, so a long dinner is a harder sit than on the Yaheetech Faux Leather Dining Chairs with their 10.5 cm seat cushion.

How do the mcc direct Suede Dining Chairs compare with other sets?

Against the mcc direct White Dining Chairs, you pay £2.50 more per chair for the suede finish and 6 cm more back height. The white set is the cheaper way to seat four at £17.50 a chair.

Against the Amazon Basics Metal Dining Chairs, the suede set saves you £46.70 on the four, which is £11.67 less per chair. The Amazon Basics set holds 149.6 kg a chair and stacks, so it is the better buy for a heavy sitter or for chairs that move between the kitchen and the garden. The suede set is the better buy for a dining room that wants upholstery and a quieter look.
