VASAGLE Dining Table Set

Is the VASAGLE Dining Table Set worth buying?

Yes, if you have four people to seat and no chairs to inherit: the VASAGLE Dining Table Set costs £76.99 and arrives as three pieces, one 110 x 70 cm table and two benches, with 3,035 owners rating it 4.7. Getting the table and the seating in a single box is the whole argument for it, because a table plus four chairs separately rarely lands under £100.

It stops making sense the moment the room outgrows the table. 110 cm is four people and no more, and nothing slides out to add a fifth place, so a bigger household should look at a longer top instead. Buyers who want backrests at dinner are also better served by a table with proper chairs, even at the cost of spending more.

What does 110 x 70 cm give you in practice?

The top works out at 7,700 cm2, which is 1,925 cm2 for each of the four people it seats. Divide the price the same way and every place at this table costs £19.25, seating included, which is the number to hold against any table-plus-chairs bundle you are considering.

Under the board sits an impact-resistant steel frame over moisture-resistant particleboard, so a spilled drink mopped up the same evening does not reach the core. The matte black frame against the rustic brown panels belongs to the BARNET Collection, model KDT070B01, which means the finish matches the rest of that VASAGLE range if you are furnishing more than one room.

What comes in the box and what is it like to live with?

One parcel holds the three pieces: the table and two benches, plus the numbered fittings, the tools and the instructions. Once built, the benches push under the top, so between meals the set occupies the footprint of the table alone, which is 110 x 70 cm on the floor and 75 cm to the top.

The whole set weighs 27 kg, so plan for two people if there is a staircase involved, and a 27 kg table is also steady enough that it will not skate across the floor when someone leans on an edge. Assembly is required rather than optional, and the surface wants a dry cloth, not a wet one left standing on it.

Where does the VASAGLE Dining Table Set fall short?

The benches have no backs, so a long dinner is spent sitting upright with nothing to lean against. That suits a quick family meal and wears thin over a three hour catch-up, which is the single strongest reason to buy a plain table and add chairs you choose yourself.

Nothing extends here. 110 cm is the fixed ceiling, with no leaf to pull out for guests, so a fifth person needs a chair at the end of the table. The 27 kg weight is the other daily consideration: moving the set to sweep underneath is a two-handed job rather than a nudge.

How does it compare with the VASAGLE 110 cm Dining Table and the VASAGLE Golden Oak Kitchen Table?

The VASAGLE 110 cm Dining Table gives you the same 110 x 70 cm top on a steel frame for £61.99, £15 less, and its 120 kg rating sits above what most four-person households will ever put on it. Take that one if chairs are already in the house, and take this set if the seating has to be part of the same budget.

The VASAGLE Golden Oak Kitchen Table is £17 cheaper at £59.99 and gives 140 x 75 cm, which is 10,500 cm2 against 7,700 cm2, or 2,800 cm2 more surface, seating four to six on a 100 kg frame. For a household of five or six that already owns chairs, that is the better table. For a first home where nothing comes with the flat, the three piece set at £76.99 remains the sensible order.
