Rank #8 in Best Electric Fireplaces 2026: 10 Ranked, and the Spec Sheet That Doesn't Add Up
FLAMEKO Verona 16" Freestanding Electric Fire Insert, Black
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The FLAMEKO Verona is a freestanding electric fireplace insert — 50cm wide, 60cm high and 17cm deep — that stands on the floor rather than being built into a wall. It finished eighth in this guide, and at £159.97 with 4.6 stars from 188 ratings it sits near the top of the ratings table here.
Its size is the thing to check before you buy. The product name calls it a 16-inch fire. The stated dimensions make it 50cm wide, which is roughly 19.7 inches. And the field Amazon labels 'Maximum Compatible Size (in inches)' reads 18 Inches. Three figures, one product, and nothing in the listing explaining how they relate — the same problem we found across this category, where that field turns up as 112 Centimetres on the Atacama, 128 Centimetres on the Savannah and 1.82 Metres on the 72-inch Valine. There is a second claim worth reading twice: one bullet calls the flame effect '100% energy saving LED', while the same listing describes a 1000W-2000W fan heater drawing 2000 Watts. The listing does say the flame can run with or without the heater, but at 2000 Watts the heater is not 100% energy saving. On the figures that do line up, this is the FLAMEKO whose Heat Output and Power Consumption both read 2000 Watts; the Kingston and Innsbruck listings in this guide swap those two numbers between them. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing, not from our own testing.

Questions people ask
What size is the FLAMEKO Verona?
The name calls it a 16-inch electric fire and the spec gives 50cm wide, 60cm high and 17cm deep. The Amazon field 'Maximum Compatible Size (in inches)' lists 18 Inches, so the listing carries three different size figures.
Does the flame effect cost anything to run?
The listing describes a '100% energy saving LED Flame' and says the flame can run with or without the heater. The heater itself is listed at 2000 Watts, and the bullets describe a 1000W-2000W fan heater.
How much heat does it put out?
The spec lists Heat Output at 2000 Watts. The heater bullet describes a quiet 1000W-2000W fan heater with an adjustable thermostat that controls room temperature.
Do the heat output and power consumption figures agree?
Yes. Both are listed as 2000 Watts on this FLAMEKO. The Kingston and Innsbruck listings in this guide have those same two figures the other way round.
Can I mount a TV above it?
The listing says the freestanding insert lets you safely mount a TV, mirror or other wall accessories above the fireplace. The same listing's maximum compatible size field reads 18 Inches, which would be a very small screen.
What comes in the box and how is it controlled?
Included components are one 16-inch fireplace insert, an instruction manual, a log set, a set of black chips, two AAA batteries and a remote control. The remote is programmable for flame and heating settings.
