The WORX WX106 is an 8V cordless rotary tool at £44.99, and it is number 10 in this guide. It carries a 4.5 out of 5 rating from 215 ratings, and the listing's own breakdown shows 75 five-star ratings against 13 four-star, with 12 ratings at three stars or below.
The reason this one is worth a closer look is that its speed figures are the exception in this category, where the two halves of a listing usually disagree. One bullet prints the no-load speed as "2,8000 rpm" — the comma has landed in the wrong place — but the specification table behind it reads 28,000 RPM maximum and 5,000 RPM minimum, so the bullet and the table are saying the same thing once you fix the punctuation. The one soft spot is what that bullet calls the control itself: in the same breath it says "variable speed control" and "5-speed control". Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing for this tool, not from a unit we bought and tested.
How those 215 ratings break down
An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.5 stars.
