The dosleeps Single Mattress is the third entry in our best single mattresses guide: a 3ft (90 x 190 cm) hybrid, 28 cm thick, advertised at £158.99 with 4.4 out of 5 from 2,686 ratings. It is the most expensive of the four mattresses the guide opens with — the others are £104.99, £75.99 and £109.98 — and the only one of them claiming a 9-zone pocket spring system rather than 7.

That claim is also the one you cannot check. Nine zones describes how the springs are grouped, not how many of them there are, and this listing publishes no coil count at all, unlike the three listings in this guide that do (300, 420 and 200). The figures it does publish agree with each other: the 11 inches in the title is the 28 cm in the specification table, and at 16.5 kg it is lighter than the 17 kg given for another mattress 3 cm thinner in this guide. The bullet claiming the foam cuts pressure by up to 87% has no matching field anywhere in the listing. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon advert, not from any testing we carried out.

“Was a bit worried about how the quality would be due to the price been so cheap, but how wrong could I be. The best night sleep using this for the first night Iv had in a very long time. Helped with my lower back pain, and great quality over all”

Questions people ask

How many springs does the dosleeps single mattress have?

The listing does not say. It describes a 9-zone support system built from individually wrapped pocket coils of tempered stainless steel, but no coil count appears in the bullets or in the specification table.

How thick is it, and do the inches match the centimetres?

The title says 11 inches and the specification lists 28 cm; 11 inches is about 27.9 cm, so those two figures agree. Item Dimensions are given as 190 x 90 x 28 cm.

What is the dosleeps mattress made of?

Construction Type is listed as gel memory foam, 9-zone pocket spring and hybrid, with a breathable knitted fabric cover and 3D breathable mesh on the sides.

Is it firm?

The Item Firmness Description says medium firm. The bullet also claims the memory foam reduces pressure on the neck, spine and hip by up to 87%, a figure no specification field supports.

What does it weigh?

16.5 kg as listed. That is heavier than the two 25 cm hybrids quoted at 6.8 kg and 9.5 kg in this guide, but lighter than the 17 kg given for another mattress 3 cm thinner.

Does it come with a trial?

The bullets advertise a 100-night sleep trial and tell you to use the mattress during the trial period to check it matches your sleep preferences.

Can I use it on my existing base?

Mattress Base Compatibility lists box spring, platform bed and slatted base.
