AEG LWR7185M4B 8kg/5kg Washer Dryer, 1400rpm, White

The AEG LWR7185M4B is a white washer dryer with an 8 kg wash load, a 5 kg dry load and a 1400 rpm maximum spin, listed at £599.00 and sitting at number 6 in this guide. It is the machine on the list that leans hardest on a single letter: "Rated Class A on the EU energy label for this model." That is the whole claim. The same listing never states a drying class, so the advert alone does not tell you whether that A covers the drying half of the machine or only the wash half — which is the problem running through this entire category.

Two other numbers here are worth reading twice. The specification field says 42 Kilowatt Hours with no time period attached, so it cannot be set against the 208 Kilowatt Hours Per Year or the 326 Kilowatt Hours per 100 cycles quoted elsewhere in this guide. And the listing shows a 4.4 rating from 61 ratings, while the rating breakdown on the same page adds up to 100 (7 one-star, 3 two-star, 5 three-star, 16 four-star and 69 five-star). Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing for this model, not from any testing we carried out.
