It takes first place on price against drum size, not on an energy claim. £369 buys an 8kg wash load, a 5kg dry load, a 1400rpm spin and a steam cycle. The rating record is the strongest here in absolute terms: 76 of 165 verified ratings are five-star, and only 10 sit at one or two stars.

In practice the 8kg washer dryer figure covers the wash side only. The drying drum takes 5kg, which means a full wash load has to be split before it goes through the dry cycle. The inverter motor is quoted for quiet running in open-plan rooms, so if you want a quiet washer dryer this is one of the few listings that makes the claim at all. The catch is what is missing. No number of drying cycles appears in the spec table, so the drying half of the 8kg/5kg claim is undocumented here, unlike the Hisense, Hoover and AEG pages. Nine of its 70 ratings are one-star, a higher poor-rating share than the Samsung's 7 out of 186. As a result, the £20 you save against the black Willow buys you one fewer known fact. If you dry as often as you wash, spend the extra.

The catch is the sample size. Nineteen ratings is the second smallest here, ahead only of the Xiaomi's eight, so a perfect bottom end means very little yet. Meanwhile the manufacturer field names Haier Smart Home, the same company behind the Haier machine further down this list — worth noting if you were treating the two brands as separate engineering.
