The Xiaomi Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro is the machine at number 9 in this guide. It is a 9kg wash / 6kg dry appliance with a 1400 RPM direct drive motor, dual auto-dosing for detergent and softener, 14 programmes, a stainless steel drum and app control, listed at £599.00.

The detail worth stopping on is which rating the big letter belongs to. The product name reads "A-D Rated", while the energy bullet says the 25% figure is "25% better efficiency than EU Class A for washing only". So the A is a wash-cycle result, and the bullet never says what the machine is graded at when it actually dries a load. The same listing gives 4.8 out of 5 from 8 ratings, with a histogram of 81% five-star and 19% four-star — a breakdown that rounds to that 4.8, on a very small base. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing, not from a test we ran.

What buyers actually say

Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon

“I've been really impressed with the Xiaomi Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro. It feels like a modern, well built machine and has been a big upgrade in terms of convenience. The 9kg capacity is a really useful size for everyday washing, while the 1400 RPM spin does a good job of removing excess water before drying. The direct drive motor gives it a solid feel, and I've found the overall noise levels quite reasonable, especially during normal washing cycles. One of my favourite features is the dual auto dose system. I've used this for regular loads during the week and found it much easier than measuring detergent and softener every time. The quick wash has also been useful for smaller loads when I'm in a hurry, while the steam refresh setting is handy for clothes that aren't particularly dirty but just need freshening up before wearing. The machine is noticeably busier during the faster spin cycle, but the noise level is still perfectly manageable for me.The 14 programmes give plenty of flexibility. I've used the standard cycle for everyday cottons and gentler settings for delicate clothing, while the combined wash and dry function has been particularly useful for towels, bedding and larger loads. Having both functions in one machine saves space and means I don't need to transfer clothes between appliances. The drying function is especially useful when the weather isn't suitable for drying clothes outside. The smart control features are another nice addition. I've found it useful being able to monitor and control the machine through the smart functions, particularly when I've started a load and want to check its progress without constantly going back to the utility room. It adds another level of convenience and makes the appliance feel much more modern than a basic washer dryer.I also think it offers good value for money considering everything included. You're getting a 9kg washer dryer, auto dosing, steam refresh, 14 programmes, smart control and a direct drive motor in one appliance. The machine feels sturdy and durable, which is important for something that gets used regularly. The A D rating is also reassuring, although actual energy use will depend on the programme, load size and how often the drying function is used.Overall, I'm very happy with this washer dryer. It's spacious, versatile and packed with genuinely useful features. The relatively low noise during normal operation, solid build quality, durability and range of washing and drying options make it feel like good value for money. It has made doing laundry much easier and more convenient, and I've been impressed with how well it fits into my everyday routine.”

Charlie Brown

“A perfect 'budget-friendly' alternative to the premium brands. The Auto Dose feature is an absolute lifesaver—I don't have to worry about measuring detergent anymore. The wash-and-dry cycle is incredibly efficient, and the unit is very quiet. It looks premium in person too. The quality is far above what I expected for this price.”
