Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.

The Pixie is the only capsule-first machine in this ranking, and the listing is unambiguous about it: 19 bar output pressure, pods as the coffee input, compatible with Nespresso Original capsules, in an aluminium and plastic body weighing 2.59 kilograms with a 0.7 litre water capacity and auto shut-off.

19 bar is a higher quoted pressure than the 15 bar machines here, though pressure on a capsule machine is doing a different job than on a manual one. The Pixie is the lightest and smallest machine in this ranking by a distance, at 32.6 by 11.1 by 23.5 centimetres. At the time of collection it carried 266 ratings at 4.4 stars. Everything here comes from the Amazon listing rather than our own testing.

“I've been eyeing up espresso coffee machines for a while now, but wasn't sure whether to bite the bullet or not. Safe to say I'm glad I did - this Nespresso Pixie has really upped my coffee game!I love a morning coffee but didn't love the faff of making it. I've been using the Pixie for a week now and it's made my morning coffee routine SO simple! The machine is really simple to use, it heats up quickly, and within 2 minutes you have a gorgeous espresso ready-to-go. Not only is it simpler and less messy, but I’ve found the quality of the coffee to be a lot better than my old manual brewing ways. I feel like I’m getting a fancy coffee shop coffee every day, but without the price tag! I really am converted. The machine itself is compact and fits well in a small space. I like the dark green panelling on the sides which adds to the premium look of the machine whilst keeping it simple and sleek. The only thing I’d change about the design is having a removable drip tray instead of one that flips up - as someone who likes a big mug I’d prefer to just take the tray off completely. If you’re an espresso or small-coffee drinker though, you won’t notice this. The water tank is surprisingly big which is great as it means you’re not constantly re-filling it. I recommend using filtered water in there for the best coffee. I was a bit worried about how noisy it would be but it’s been completely fine. The first couple of seconds are a little louder, then it settles into a chilled hum. Cheers Nespresso for adding a little bit of luxury to my mornings, I couldn’t live without it now!”

“We Love this coffee pod machine 🥰Its So easy to use and clean. We take it away in our campervan, its just a fab size and doesn't take up much space.Such a Luxury to make coffee when we want. We stopped for an hour at a service station on our way to Cornwall and a lovely coffee with no need to buy an expensive nasty one. Fantastic”
