Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The AQUAPHOR Onyx is the largest jug in this ranking at 4.2 litres, which is the reason to pick it: fewer refills for a household that drinks a lot of water, with three Maxfor+ cartridges included, a 60 day filter life cycle, BPA-free and shatterproof construction, dishwasher safe except for the lid, at 1.25 kilograms.
Sixty days between cartridges is twice the four week cycle most BRITA models quote, which changes the running cost calculation significantly. Shatterproof matters in a fridge where a jug gets knocked about. At the time of collection it carried 5,146 ratings at 4.6 stars. Everything here comes from the Amazon listing rather than our own testing.

An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.6 stars.
