Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The Cat Mate is the established-brand budget fountain here, and the listing names its construction clearly: a 2 litre fountain with three drinking levels, quiet operation, BPA-free materials and dishwasher-safe parts, supplied with a pump and filter, under model number 335W. It is listed for cats and small dogs.
Three drinking levels is a quiet advantage in a multi-cat house, because it gives a nervous cat a lower stream to drink from rather than a shared top bowl. BPA-free and dishwasher-safe parts are the two material claims the listing makes. At the time of collection it carried 10,299 ratings at 4.4 stars. Everything here comes from the Amazon listing rather than our own testing.
How those 10,299 ratings break down
An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.4 stars.
