The BingoPaw Wooden Hamster Cage with Tempered Glass takes second place in this guide at £93.49. It is a 100 x 50 x 50 cm wooden-framed enclosure with clear panels, two top-opening lids and a built-in LED light, rated 4.4 out of 5 from 56 ratings, with a Best Sellers Rank that reads 1 in Small Animal Cages.

Its own listing is where it gets interesting. The first bullet attacks acrylic — "acrylic panels that can become scratched or cloudy over time" — and sells tempered glass instead, while the Material Type field on the same page reads "Acrylic, Wood". The 100 x 50 cm footprint works out at 0.5 m², the same floor area the BUCATSTATE 3.0 prints outright on its own listing; BingoPaw never prints it. And the rating breakdown on the page adds up to 100 ratings while the listing says 56. Everything here comes from the Amazon listing, not from a test we ran.

“I am pleasantly surprised at this enclosure. I love it. I love the added touch of the light. Was easy to put up with a little help. The only small issue I had was one of the doors aligning on top, I tried it multiple of times but couldn't get it 100% like the other side. I think the holes drilled was slightly out of place but I only mean by a couple of millimetres. The wood isn't the thickest but for the price it brilliant. I thought the panels was acrylic but when they come they are glass, so was I was very surprised and happy. A great buy. Now can't wait to get my hammie.Update: I have now been told hamsters don't see well with lights on and may likely hide. So I added some red film over the light as red light is better and doesn't take much difference to there sight. Added a picture I love it more.”

“So far the enclosure is good just worried about my hamster chewing through the back as it's thin”
