The Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone is the air fryer most British kitchens end up buying, and it takes first place in our ranking on evidence that dwarfs everything else here: more than twenty thousand ratings at an average of 4.8 stars, with 89 per cent of them at five. What you are really paying for is two fully independent drawers, each with its own temperature and timer, and a Sync function that staggers them so two different dishes finish at the same moment. It draws 2470W, reaches 240°C, has a non-stick coating and dishwasher-safe parts, and carries a two-year warranty.
The "9.5L" is the headline that needs reading correctly. The listing's own "Configuration: Dual Drawer" is the giveaway: it is two roughly 4.75-litre drawers added together, not one 9.5-litre space, so it cannot cook a single item any larger than a mid-size air fryer can, only two things at once. The spec table also carries a couple of impossible entries worth knowing about — it lists the voltage as "20 Volts", meaningless for a 2470W appliance on 230V mains, and gives dimensions of about 10 by 16 by 13 centimetres, far too small for a 9.5L twin-drawer machine that is nearer 40cm wide. Neither changes the hardware. Everything here comes from the Amazon listing rather than our own testing.

Can the Ninja Foodi MAX cook one 9.5-litre item?
No. The 9.5L is two separate drawers of about 4.75 litres each, as the listing's "Dual Drawer" configuration shows. You cannot fit a single item any bigger than a mid-size air fryer would take; what you get instead is the ability to cook two different foods at once, each at its own setting.
What is the Sync function?
It staggers the two drawers so that two dishes needing different times and temperatures still finish at the same moment. That is the main reason to buy a dual-zone over a single basket: chips in one side, chicken in the other, both ready together.
Why does the spec sheet say 20 volts?
That is a catalogue error. A 2470W appliance runs on 230V mains; 20 volts would not power it. Like the impossibly small dimensions also on the table, it is a form field filled in wrongly, not a real specification.
Is it big on the worktop?
Yes. A twin-drawer machine is wide, around 40cm, and tall enough to foul wall units, despite the tiny (and wrong) dimensions on the spec table. If space is tight, the vertical Ninja Double Stack gives two zones in a narrower footprint.
Is it worth it over a cheaper single basket?
Only if you cook two things at once. If you routinely plate a protein and a side that need different treatment, the two zones earn the price. If you cook one dish at a time, the single-basket Ninja PRO or the Russell Hobbs do the job for much less.
Are the parts dishwasher safe?
Yes. The drawers and crisper plates are dishwasher safe and non-stick, and it carries a two-year warranty.
