The TCL 85C7L is the 85-inch SQD-Mini LED television that takes second place in this guide. The listing gives it 4K resolution, up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness across 1,624 dimming zones, Google TV, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, audio tuned by Bang & Olufsen and a 144 Hz refresh rate, for £1,999.
Its place in the guide comes down to a detail that trips up most of the other listings here: the C7L states the same figure in both refresh rate fields of its specification table - 'Refresh Rate: 144 Hz' and 'Display Refresh Rate in Hertz: 144'. Nothing in this listing puts a bigger number in the title than the panel backs up. The dimension line is in the same scale as the screen it describes, 188.8 cm wide by 112.4 cm high, and the weight is given as 53 kg with the stand and 34.1 kg without it. One number on the page does not reconcile: the listing shows a 4.8 rating from 14 ratings, while the rating breakdown on the same page - 6 three-star, 7 four-star and 87 five-star - adds up to 100. We quote both rather than choose one. Everything below comes from the Amazon listing, not from testing of our own.
