It takes first place in this guide, and it gets there on a number rather than on its badge: three of the listings we compared carry a Core i7 claim with a 3.0GHz turbo ceiling, which sits below the 4.40GHz quoted on this i3.
At £649.99 it is not the cheapest machine in the guide — the eight-core i5-12450H listing is £338.81 — so the case for it rests on the quoted clock speed and on 4.6 out of 5 from 103 ratings, not on price. Two entries in the spec table are worth a second look.
