The Lexar ARES Gen2 RGB is a 32GB DDR5 desktop kit made of two 16GB UDIMM modules, listed at 6000MHz with CL30 timings. It comes last in this guide, at number 10 — not because it is slow, but because it costs £593.99 for the same headline specification that nine of the other kits here carry: 32GB at 6000MHz. The kit it sits closest to on paper, the £409.99 Biwin DW100, is also 32GB at 6000MHz, which leaves £184 between the two.

The listing itself is where it gets untidy. The Memory Speed field says 6000 MHz and the bullet text says 6000MT/s at CL30, but the Data Transfer Rate field on the same page says 6144 Megabytes Per Second. Both numbers are on the listing; they are not the same number. What is consistent is the rest of the specification: Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO support, on-die ECC, a built-in PMIC, a 1.88mm aluminium heat spreader, 288 pins, 1.4V and RGB lighting through Lexar RGB Sync.
