The Yamaha P-145BT is the third entry in this guide: an 88-key digital piano with graded-hammer-compact weighted keys, 10 voices and Bluetooth audio, listed at £339.00 with a 4.8 rating from 45 ratings. Yamaha presents it as a beginner instrument that fits a small room and still travels — the listing gives its size as 130 cm x 35 cm x 20 cm and its weight as 12.3 kg.
The interesting part is the rating. The page quotes 45 ratings, but the star breakdown shown alongside it reads 3 one-star, 8 four-star and 89 five-star — 100 in total, which cannot be a count of 45 reviews. Either those figures are percentages, or the two numbers come from different places. On sounds, the P-145BT lists 10 voices, against the 900 timbres claimed by the £272.99 walnut STRICH elsewhere in this guide and the 128 timbres claimed by the £349.99 one — so the Yamaha undercuts the dearer STRICH by £10.99 while listing a much shorter sound list. Everything below comes from the Amazon listing, not from any testing we carried out.
How those 45 ratings break down
An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.8 stars.
