Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The Donner DST-100S electric guitar beginner kit sits at number two in our guide. It costs £116.99 and includes a 3W mini electric guitar amplifier. The kit just above it, the £119.99 Max GigKit, ships a 40W amp with a 6-inch speaker — so for £3 more you get roughly 13 times the rated output. That is the central number in this fiche: 'comes with an amp' can mean anything from a 3W box to a 40W combo.
The Donner listing contradicts itself in two places. The bullets describe a solid basswood body, but the specifications list Poplar wood for the top, body and back. The product name says HSS pickups, while the bullets say S-S-H. The kit holds a 4.6 out of 5 rating from 1,294 reviews, with 78% of those awarding five stars. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing, not from our own testing.

An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.6 stars.
