The beyerdynamic MMX 300 PRO is our number 9 gaming headset pick and the studio grade outlier in the September 2026 list. Built on beyerdynamic's studio line, it is a wired, closed-back over-ear headset with a 5 Hz to 35,000 Hz frequency range, a 48 ohm impedance and a high quality condenser microphone tuned for voice intelligibility. Ear pads, headband and cable are all sold as interchangeable replacement parts, and the box adds a PC cable, a console adapter and a microphone pop filter.

At £259 it is the most expensive and most specialist set here. The sheet is honest, which earns it respect, but the pool is thin at 296 ratings and 3.9 overall, even though every review we collected is five stars. It suits players who already know they want studio sound and voice quality at a fixed desk. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing rather than our own testing.

What buyers actually say

“I was looking for a gaming headset as I enjoy the convenience of having a built in mic as I don't want to use a standalone one for my pc. After some research, I found many recommending the MMX 300 PRO headset and I am not disappointed.Beyerdynamic is known for great audio products, and having tried the DT 770 Pros before, I'm not disappointed at all. The audio is fantastic compared to the other well known gaming headset brands (Razer, Logitech etc). The cable length is generous and the cable quality is a flexible but seemingly sturdy plastic and they include an adapter in the box to connect it in multiple ways if you like. One of the things I was most impressed about was the mic quality. I genuinely haven't heard a headset with a nicer built in microphone and it sounds almost studio-like when it comes to headset mics. I have had people actually think that I was using a professional microphone which says it all.The main drawback with this headset would probably be the price, as it is quite expensive but you definitely get what you pay for, and it trumps the competition in both audio quality and build quality.”

“I wanted to have a headset that I could use at home for listening to podcasts and audio books while I work and perform equally well on Teams, Slack and Google Meet calls. These do the job really well, the mic is very clear and being wired I don't have to worry about batteries or Bluetooth connections. They are very comfortable, partly down to the DT series that they are derived from where designed to be worn all day in a studio. I have found the materials to be perfectly find and fit for purpose. These are still good value for money considering that they are assembled in Germany.”
