“I bought the standard DJI RS 5 rather than the Creator Combo because I already owned DJI Focus Pro motors. It meant I wasn't paying for accessories I already had, and the motors integrated perfectly with the gimbal.The first thing that impressed me was how straightforward the setup process was. Balancing my Sony FX30 is quick, and the fine adjustment controls make it much easier to achieve an accurate balance than older gimbals I've used. Once balanced, the motors deliver impressively smooth stabilisation and the overall shooting experience feels very refined.Most of the time I use the RS 5 with lighter lenses, and it's been excellent. It's worth noting, however, that my Fujinon MK18-55 T2.9 and MK50-135 T2.9 cine zooms are simply too large and heavy to be practical on this gimbal. I don't see that as a fault of the RS 5—they're substantial cine zooms that push beyond what I'd reasonably expect from a mirrorless gimbal—but it's something buyers with similar lenses should be aware of.One thing to be aware of if you're already invested in the DJI ecosystem is compatibility. My DJI Focus Pro motors work perfectly with the RS 5, but the original Focus Pro LiDAR isn't compatible, so it's worth checking exactly which accessories are supported before buying if you already own DJI equipment.Build quality is excellent throughout. The automatic axis locks are a brilliant feature that make transporting, balancing and storing the gimbal much quicker, while the quick-release system makes moving between tripod and gimbal fast and hassle-free.Battery life has been excellent during my shoots, and the overall design feels very polished. It's one of those products where lots of thoughtful improvements combine to make it a pleasure to use.If you're shooting with a mirrorless camera and reasonably sized lenses, I can highly recommend the RS 5. It offers excellent stabilisation, thoughtful ergonomics and integrates well with the DJI ecosystem. Just bear in mind that very large cine zooms and some older DJI accessories, such as the original Focus Pro LiDAR, may not be compatible with this setup.”

“After upgrading from a Weebil S, I find the tech on this piece of kit to be insane. To think I've been missing out on all these cool bells and whistles that would have made my life so much easier over the last few years is nuts. The intelligent track module is good - but the camera movement with it can be janky. The gimbal feels snug in my hands and I'm slowly learning the interface. Combined with the app, this is an essential piece of kit that every serious videographer should at least look into.”
