The carry case adds another 85g (vs 35g).The build feels nice; the white plastic is subtly pearlescant, with black rubber trim and a secure hand grip. It feels robust. There has obviously been some effort made to water and dirt proof the design, with a rubber grommet covering the (USB-C) charging port, and the buttons below an integral rubber insert. However, there is no official IP rating. There is a strong magnet under the rubber grip on the right hand side.The rangefinder has 3 basic various modes1) straight line distance (yards or m)2) flag pole locking distance (yards or m)3) speed (mph or kph)One can then select the slope button on, which brings up horizontal and vertical distances, and angle.It is possible to swap between yards, meters, mph and kph.It gives similar readings to other rangerfinders I've reviewed. In terms of range, the manual talks about up to 1200m; The farthest I have got so far is 889m off a tree, which the furthest thing I can see from my window.The one thing that I feel is missing is a 1/4 screw hole to allow mounting on a tripod.I have reviewed similar optics that have more features and higher price tags. This is specifically designed for golf, but could also be used for navigation and other outdoors pursuits.”
