The Povasee Jump Starter with 150PSI Air Compressor, 10L Petrol / 8L Diesel is two tools in one box. It jump starts a flat 12V battery and it pumps a tyre back up, which covers the two faults most likely to strand a driver, and it costs GBP 56.98. It comes ninth of ten in our jump starter ranking. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing rather than from our own testing: the price, the specification table, the spread of the customer ratings, and two review quotes copied word for word.

The specification table is worth reading closely, because two of its rows disagree. It gives the peak output current as 9000 Amps, then gives amperage as 0.02 in the row underneath. Two hundredths of an amp would not light a torch bulb, so one of those two numbers is wrong, and the page shows the row exactly as the listing publishes it rather than quietly correcting it. One more figure deserves the same care: 4.7 stars is the joint best average in the ranking, level with the TOPDON at number ten, but it rests on 298 ratings, a thinner sample than the leaders carry.

Questions people ask

Will the Povasee jump starter work on a diesel?

The listing gives its coverage as 12V vehicles up to 10 litres of petrol or 8 litres of diesel, from a peak output current of 9000 amps. Those are the figures the listing publishes rather than ones we measured, and 10 litres is well beyond any passenger car engine.

Why does the specification say the amperage is 0.02?

Because that is what the Amazon table says. The same table gives the peak output current as 9000 amps, so the two rows contradict each other and one of them is wrong. We show the 0.02 as listed rather than correcting it, so you can see the error for yourself.

Does it inflate tyres as well?

Yes. The listing sells it as a jump starter with a 150PSI air compressor and states the compressor shuts off automatically once it reaches the pressure you set. That is the maker claim; we have not tested it.

How big is the battery?

The specification table gives 16,000mAh and a lithium polymer cell running at 12 volts. For scale inside our own ranking, the first-placed NOCO Boost GB40 lists 2,150mAh.

What comes in the box?

The listing names two components: the jump starter itself and the jump leads. One buyer mentions a carry case in their review, but the specification table does not list one, but the specification table does not list one.

How heavy is it, and is there a warranty?

The table gives 900 g, which is lighter than several packs above it in the ranking. The warranty row reads "2 year manufacturer". The listing publishes no dimensions, so it does not tell you whether it fits a glovebox.
