Is the LYNCAST 300Pro+ Projector worth buying?

The LYNCAST 300Pro+ Projector is worth buying at £42.99 if you want a bedroom machine that is still covered when the novelty wears off, and 834 owners rate it 4.0. It carries a two-year warranty with a free replacement inside the first year, the only cover of its kind on this page, which turns a £42.99 gamble into a sensible first projector for a child's room or a rented flat.

It is not the one for a bright living room or for anyone who wants true 1080p, because the picture is a 720p one and 200 ANSI lumens needs the curtains shut. Buy it for a dark bedroom, a bedside table and a film most evenings, and treat the streaming apps as a bonus rather than the point of the purchase.

What do the 200 ANSI lumens actually give you?

200 ANSI lumens is the one brightness figure that travels between brands, and £42.99 spread across those 200 comes to about 21p per ANSI lumen. That is a rate you can hold against any other mini projector, where a headline of 15,000 or 40,000 lumens is a number with no unit attached and no way to check it.

In use those 200 ANSI lumens fill anything from a 40-inch picture to a 100-inch one in a dark room, and the 15,000:1 contrast ratio with the Advanced LCD Pro processing keeps the shadows from going flat. It is a bedtime image, not a daytime one: switch a lamp on and you lose most of it.

What comes in the box and what does it weigh?

The box contains the adapter, an HDMI cable, a remote and the user manual, so a laptop or a console works the same evening without a trip to the shops. The projector weighs 350 g and measures 8.9 cm by 8.9 cm by 15 cm, small enough to sit on a nightstand and light enough to carry into another room in one hand.

Its 0.8:1 lens makes a 100-inch picture from about 1.8 m, and the throw range starts at 0.6 m for a 40-inch image and reaches 3 m at the far end. The base swings through 180° to put the picture on the ceiling, a 5W speaker handles the sound, and HDMI, USB and audio ports cover a console, a Fire TV Stick or a wired speaker.

Where does the LYNCAST 300Pro+ fall short?

The panel is 1280 x 720, so a 1080p or 4K stream lands on 921,600 pixels instead of the 2,073,600 a native 1080p chip would give you. Focus is manual as well, which means getting up and turning the wheel whenever the unit is nudged, and the picture is capped at 100 inches, so it will not fill a large living-room wall.

It is a tabletop projector, sitting on a table, a shelf or the floor rather than on a ceiling bracket. It also draws 48W, against 40W on the cheaper YOTON Y4PRO, and its price sits £3 above that model for the same 200 ANSI lumens, so the extra money buys the warranty rather than more light.

How does it compare with the YOTON Y4PRO and the Magcubic?

The YOTON Y4PRO at £39.99 is £3 cheaper and matches the 200 ANSI lumens exactly, but it runs Android TV 14 with Netflix and Disney+ already sitting in the menu and draws 40W. Buy the LYNCAST for the two-year cover and the free first-year replacement, and the YOTON if you would rather have Netflix one button away on day one.

The Magcubic at £54.99 costs £12 more and brings a DLP chip with a noise floor below 28 dB and 8,936 ratings behind it, the safest buy on this page by sheer numbers. The LYNCAST answers that with the warranty and nothing else, so take the Magcubic if you want the quieter, longer-proven machine and the warranty is not what keeps you up at night.

What it is up against

The rivals it was ranked against in Best Mini Projector 2026: 10 Ranked.

Questions people ask

How long is the LYNCAST 300Pro+ warranty?

Two years, with a free replacement offered inside the first year. No other mini projector on this page carries cover of that length, which is the main reason to pay £42.99 rather than £39.99.

What is included with the LYNCAST 300Pro+?

The box holds the power adapter, an HDMI cable, a remote and the user manual. That is enough to connect a laptop or a games console straight away, with no extra lead to buy.

How big a picture can the LYNCAST 300Pro+ throw?

Between 40 and 100 inches. The 0.8:1 lens creates a 100-inch image from roughly 1.8 m, and the throw distance runs from 0.6 m at the near end to 3 m at the far end.

Does the LYNCAST 300Pro+ have to be mounted on a ceiling?

No, it sits on a table, a shelf or the floor. The base rotates through 180° so you can point it at a wall or straight up at the ceiling without a bracket or a tripod.

How much power does the LYNCAST 300Pro+ use?

It draws 48W in total, with the lamp itself running at 40W. That is a touch more than the 40W YOTON Y4PRO, so expect a slightly warmer unit over a long evening.

Can the LYNCAST 300Pro+ play 4K video?

It accepts 4K and 1080p input and decodes H.264 and H.265 files, but the picture is displayed at 1280 x 720. The LED lamp is rated for 50,000 hours, long enough that the light source will outlast your patience with the panel.
