Rank #3 in Best Studio Monitors 2026: 10 Ranked, and the Numbers That Lie
M-Audio BX4 4.5-inch Studio Monitors, Pair
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The M-Audio BX4 is the third entry in this guide, and it is a pair of powered desktop monitors rather than a single box: two 4.5-inch Kevlar woofers, two 2.54 cm silk dome tweeters, bi-amplified per the bullet points, in MDF cabinets with a bass reflex port. The listing's Unit Count reads 2.0 count and the price is £99.99, so that figure covers both speakers. The comparison worth making on this page is the one the guide makes: the M-Audio BX5 in the same round-up is listed at £92.00 for one 5-inch monitor, which is £184.00 for a stereo pair, against £99.99 here for two cabinets.
The spec table is worth reading field by field, because not all of it describes a wired desktop monitor. Controller Type says Remote Control, while Control Method on the same listing says Push Button, and none of the six bullet points mentions a remote. Maximum Range is given as 2 metres. Subwoofer Speaker Diameter is 11.5 cm on a product with no subwoofer in it — that number does line up with the 4.5-inch woofer, but the label does not. The 120W figure appears once, in the Product Features field, with no split between the two drivers. Everything below is taken from the Amazon listing as it stands, not from any testing of our own.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“Honestly these totally exceeded my expectations, I've been around some noises in my time and lemme tell ya these have got some good noise to them! Really easy to set up but buy yourself 2 of the chonky mic style AUXs if you plan to hook these up to an audio interface as the small ended AUXs provided are mostly useless. But once hooked up to said interface with the proper AUX wires these things have some brilliant sound. If you're on the fence defo come down off that fence and give these bad boys a whirl!”
Verified purchase“Amazing speakers, very good value. Had been looking for affordable speakers with good bass as well as good sound quality in general and these certainly tick all the boxes! Look sleek, can get very loud and the bass is perfect, great for techno which is what I was looking for, doesn't come with a cable to connect to my DJ decks but luckily they're quite cheap on amazon. 10/10 speakers definitely would recommend, especially if you want a speaker with good bass.”

Questions people ask
Does £99.99 buy one M-Audio BX4 or two?
Two. The title says 'Pair' and the Unit Count field reads 2.0 count, so the £99.99 covers both speakers.
What size are the drivers on the M-Audio BX4?
The listing specifies 4.5-inch Kevlar woofers, recorded as 11.5 cm, paired with 2.54 cm natural silk dome tweeters.
How much power do they have?
The only power figure anywhere in the listing is 120W, and it appears in the Product Features field. The bullet points say the amplification is bi-amplified, but they do not split the wattage between woofer and tweeter, or between the two cabinets.
Is there a remote control in the box?
The listing contradicts itself here. Controller Type reads Remote Control, Control Method reads Push Button, and no remote is mentioned in any of the six bullet points.
What inputs does the M-Audio BX4 offer?
The Product Features field lists Aux in and Headphone Out, and the bullets describe a wired, zero-latency connection for streaming, gaming and studio work. The Maximum Range field reads 2 metres, and no wireless connection is claimed in the bullet points.
What does the listing say about warranty and spare parts?
Warranty Type is 'Limited' with no length stated, and EU Spare Part Availability Duration is given as 7 years.
