“I already have a number of APC backup supply's but their price, as with everything else, is ever increasing and I spotted this on sale so thought I'd give it a go. The actual unit is very similar looking to the the APC ES700 with 4 sockets for backup and surge protection and 4 just for surge protection.The supplied battery is a 12V 7AH battery exactly the same as the ES700 so I'm not sure how they claim this is 1000VA, but then there's the power factor (PF) to be applied (a "fiddle factor" that takes resistance and induction loads into account) that drops it down to the reality value, usually these are around 60% so in this case 600W whereas an ES700 is approx 420W.Whatever the case I've been using this on my second rig which houses a 800W PSU but runs around 550W when gaming running an AMD Ryzen and AMD GPU so not insignificant and I'm glad to say when the power trips its able to support the PC whilst I reset the breakers.As others have stated there's no software included in the box and you have to go hunting on the BPC website and although there's no direct link for this particular model, the software page has links for their other models which install and works. It's a bit clunky but it works. Non of these kind of devices have great looking software - they are functional and do a job. It does show the load currently being used so it does have a use as well as setting shut down requirements. Its worth noting that if you plug this into a Synology NAS, the UPS is automatically recognized with no software install and Winut (network UPS freeware) works fine on PC to monitor and/or use the ups so you can have multiple devices shut down gracefully but only one device plugged into the usb on the UPS and this worked using the same details in Winut as the APC I had plugged in previously.I was actually surprised that the small lcd on the top is actually a touch screen and does provide some useful quick glance info, I'm always surprised how variable my household input voltage is!Overall the unit has performed well for the last 3 months and yes I would buy another if/when I need to.”

“It is a UPS and it does what a UPS should do. This small model is suitable for home use rather than being able to keep many computers running for any length of time. Others have commented that it is larger than they expected but given it contains transformer, battery and circuitry as well as 8 mains outlets it actually seems compact for what it is. Containing a lead acid battery it is also heavy. The wall mounting option could be helpful. Having two USB charging points is a nice additional feature and I run my desk lamp off one of them. I have not had it for long so cannot comment on how long it lasts.It definitely works as we get occasional micro power cuts lasting a second or two and I no longer have to worry about those losing me time and work. The surge protection is also valuable in this context.A lovely touch is that after tuning the power supply off using its power button you can turn it off at the socket and all the tiny amounts of power used by computers and their peripherals on standby is saved. The unit itself does hum gently and consumes some power so being able to turn in off in this way when not needed is energy efficient. So far it has performed well and is a very complete package. In event of a long power cut I think I would use it to save my work and shut down the computer. In a prolonged loss of power being able to charge phones and batteries for torches would be more useful than continuing to use the computer.BPC Energy has a useful website with the manuals. You can download their software which lets you see what the unit is doing. For this unit the software is not very useful but looking at their bigger units you can see where it would be invaluable for the IT department to monitor the situation during a power outage and advise staff when or what to shut down to avoid a potential significant problems.”
