Rank #4 in Best Laser Printer 2026: 10 Ranked, and Why the Cheap One Costs More
Brother DCP-L2627DWE 3-in-1 Mono Laser Printer with EcoPro
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The Brother DCP-L2627DWE is the all-in-one to buy if running cost matters more than the star count, and it takes fourth place in our laser-printer ranking. It is a mono print-scan-copy machine that prints at 32 pages a minute, does automatic double-sided printing, and — crucially — runs on the same cheap Brother toner as our number-one pick, the TN2510 cartridge. That is its whole argument: the same practical all-in-one package as the HP M235sdw above it, but with a lower cost per page.
It sits behind the HP only on evidence — 148 ratings at 4.4 stars is solid but far shallower than the HP's pool — not on capability. Two things on the listing are worth reading carefully: the network field lists only USB even though this is the wireless "DWE" model and Wi-Fi is a selling point, and the scanner is a flatbed, so you place documents one at a time on the glass rather than feeding a stack. There is also an optional EcoPro toner subscription with a four-month free trial. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing rather than our own testing.
How those 148 ratings break down
An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.4 stars.

Questions people ask
Why rank the Brother DCP-L2627DWE behind the HP all-in-one?
On capability they are very close — both are compact mono print-scan-copy lasers with duplex and Wi-Fi. The Brother is cheaper to run because it uses Brother's inexpensive TN2510 toner, but it has far fewer ratings (148 versus the HP's hundreds), so the HP wins on weight of evidence while this wins on cost per page.
What toner does it use, and is it cheap to run?
It takes the TN2510 cartridge — the same one as our number-one Brother HL-L2400DWE — which is among the cheaper laser toners to replace. A high-yield version is available, and the box cartridge is a smaller starter, so the true low running cost shows on the first replacement.
Does it have an automatic document feeder?
No. The listing gives the scanner type as flatbed, which means you place each page on the glass by hand. For scanning or copying multi-page documents in one go you would want a machine with an ADF, such as the HP M235sdw in our ranking.
Does it connect over Wi-Fi?
Yes — it is the wireless "DWE" model and connects over Wi-Fi as well as USB, though the specification's network field lists only USB. Setup is done through the Brother Mobile Connect app, which also manages an EcoPro subscription.
What is the EcoPro subscription?
EcoPro is Brother's optional toner plan: genuine toner is delivered automatically so you do not run out, with free recycling, and the listing includes a four-month free trial you can cancel any time. For light printing, buying cartridges outright is usually cheaper.
How fast is it and what resolution?
The listing gives 32 pages a minute with the first page out in about 8.5 seconds, and a 1200 x 1200 dpi print resolution — higher than the 600 dpi of most machines in this ranking. It does automatic two-sided printing.
