The Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II for Sony E is the number 2 lens in this guide at £1,169.00, rated 4.7 out of 5 from 376 ratings. The two Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Masters in the same guide are listed at £1,399 and £1,525, so this one comes in £230 below the cheaper of them and £356 below the newer one.

Its spec table is where the listing gets strange. Maximum aperture is given as '2.8 f', which agrees with the name, and minimum aperture as 22, which is at least a different figure. But the same table gives Focus Type as 'Fixed Focus' and Fixed Focal Length as '24 Millimetres' — on a lens whose own listing says the focal lengths run from 24 to 70 Millimetres and whose zoom ratio is 2.92:1. The three bullets under the title are 'Sigma', 'Image & Sound Accessory' and '- Front and rear caps - Sun visor', none of which describes the lens. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing as we found it, not from any test of our own.

What buyers actually say

“Super Lens. As good as it better than the Sony brand”

“Went from 6 years of only ever shooting on my Sony fe 50mm f1.8 to this and it's not even comparable. This lens is so quick and silent when it focuses, I genuinely can't notice it, wish I could say the same for my 50mm which would make incredibly loud noises anytime it would refocus (and it did a lot). Not so important for photography but my videos were unfortunately riddled with focusing noises before this lens. I'm more of a hobbyist than anything, so pixel peeping isn't really my forte, but this sharp is as sharp as you would hope it would be for a zoom lens. If you're in the market for a zoom lens at this general focal range, you won't be disappointed. Photos were shot with the sigma 24-70 DG DN Art ii on Sony a7IV.”
