The Hisense 55E6QTUK is a 55-inch 4K smart TV at £319.00, listed with a 4.5-star rating from 2,310 Amazon ratings. It sits fourth in this guide, and the reasoning behind that placing is arithmetic rather than enthusiasm: 77% of those ratings are five-star and 6% are one-star — the same 6% the Hisense 55A6QTUK carries, against 16% on the Samsung U7020H and 17% on the HYE.

Refresh rate is the number this guide keeps finding trouble with. On this listing the two fields agree: the Refresh Rate field says 60 Hz and Display Refresh Rate in Hertz says 60. That is not true of the £288.98 HYE, which declares 60 and 120 in the same listing, or the £289 TCL, whose motion technology field reads "Unknown (likely included)". Hisense's own 55E78QTUK appears twice in the guide, at £349 with 60 Hz and £445 with 144 Hz — £96 for the refresh rate alone, and £30 more than this 55E6QTUK at the same 60 Hz. Two fields on this listing are still odd: contrast ratio is given as the French word "Élevé" instead of a figure, and "HDMI, USB" is listed as the audio input. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing, not from testing we carried out.

What buyers actually say

Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon

“The TV is a Hisense 43e6qtuk. 1. Being a modern good value flat screen TV, I wasn't expecting much from the sound. It's no booming sound system, but perfectly acceptable for watching TV & movies. 2. The picture. Whilst everything is very clear & sharp, I did find the picture quite dark initially, fine at night but not great in daylight. But a little bit of research led me to know, due to UK power consumption regulations, lots of power saving modes are switched on. Accessing these in settings, & turning them off improved the picture immensely. Overall for the money spent I'm very pleased with my new TV. My only complaint is that it didn't come set up like this out of the box.”

Questions people ask

What refresh rate does the Hisense 55E6QTUK run at?

The listing states 60 Hz in the Refresh Rate field and 60 in Display Refresh Rate in Hertz — the two agree, which is not the case on every TV in this guide.

How bright is the Hisense 55E6QTUK?

The listing gives a maximum display brightness of 400 nits, with HDR10 as the supported HDR format and AI Smooth Motion as the motion enhancement technology.

How many HDMI ports does it have?

Three, according to the Total HDMI Port field. The same listing also enters "HDMI, USB" as the audio input and as the signal format, which is how the Amazon data is filled in rather than a set of audio connections.

How do the Hisense 55E6QTUK's ratings break down?

6% of the 2,310 ratings are one-star and 77% are five-star. The 6% matches the Hisense 55A6QTUK and is well below the 16% on the Samsung U7020H and 17% on the HYE.

Do I need an aerial for the Hisense 55E6QTUK?

The listing promotes Freely, described as letting you browse and watch live TV channels with on-demand content streamed over the internet, and opens that bullet with "Goodbye aerial". It lists Disney+, YouTube, Netflix and Freely as internet applications over Wi-Fi.

What does the Hisense 55E6QTUK cost compared with the other Hisense listings?

£319.00. The guide also carries a Hisense 55E78QTUK at £349 with 60 Hz and another 55E78QTUK at £445 with 144 Hz, so the higher refresh rate costs £126 more than this TV.
