Rank #2 in Best E Ink digital notebook 2026: 10 ranked, from £326 to £722.99
Penstar eNote 2 10.3" E Ink Tablet with Pen and Folio
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The Penstar eNote 2 is a 10.3in e-ink writing tablet with a 300 ppi screen, 128 GB of storage, a bundled leather folio and a pen. It takes second place in this guide at £326.00, which is £396.99 less than the £722.99 BOOX Go 10.3 Gen II, the most expensive device here.
Its own listing does not agree with itself on what arrives in the box. The model name and the box contents field describe two B5 pens, each holding 4 spare nibs, plus a separate 10-nib kit; a bullet further up describes a single stylus with 'an extra 10 spare marker tips' — and calls the device a 'Penstar eNote Pro', not an eNote 2. The 6,500 mAh battery named in the title appears in the spec table only as a 'Battery Average Life' of 2 weeks. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing for this device, not from any testing we carried out.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“I 'm very satisfied with the notebook. Works perfectly, exactly as expected, has everything what is needed. I use it just for writing, for reading I got another device. For writing there are categories and subcategories to organise and you can also add content. I battery span is incredible, I have it at home for two weeks now and still didn ' t need to charge. Backlight from my point of view is not needed - if there isn ' t enough light, just turn on your lamp as you ' d do with a pen and paper notetaking.”
Verified purchase“I've been using the Penstar eNote 2 for a while now and overall it's made a noticeable difference to how I handle meetings. The biggest win for me is just how easy it is to use. There's no real learning curve – you pick it up and get going straight away. The pen is responsive and writing feels natural, which makes note-taking much quicker than I expected. Battery life is also solid – I'm not constantly worrying about charging it.Where it really stands out though is in meetings. Being able to take notes while recording audio at the same time is a game changer. It's made following up on discussions so much easier and I don't feel like I'm scrambling to capture everything in real time anymore. One thing I didn't realise at first – the pen did start to feel less responsive after a while. Turns out it was just the nib wearing down. Swapped it out (finally figured out what the spare nibs were for!) and it's back to being spot on.A couple of downsides. The pen itself feels a bit light and slightly cheap – I'd personally prefer something with a bit more weight to it. Also, organising notes into categories isn't the most intuitive process and could definitely be improved. And no fast charging is a bit of a miss.Overall though, it's been a really useful tool and has genuinely made meetings easier to manage.”
