At number seven in this guide is the HumsiENK 24V 100Ah LiFePO4, a lithium leisure battery listed at £299.99 with a 4.6 out of 5 rating from 14 customer reviews. Its headline figure is one of the few in this guide that survives a check: 100Ah at 24V is 2,400Wh, and the 2,560Wh in the title only adds up if you use the 25.6V nominal voltage that a "24V" LiFePO4 pack actually runs at. That is a fair convention, and it is not where the listing slips.

Where it slips is around that number. The specifications field for "Number of Batteries" reads "1 12V batteries required" on a product whose title, model name and Voltage field all say 24V, and the expansion bullet that promises a 20.48kWh system is written around "HumsiENK 12V lithium batteries" in a 2S4P arrangement. Run that arrangement with 12V units and you get half the energy claimed; run it with eight of these 24V units and 20.48kWh works out. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing for this battery, not from testing we carried out ourselves.

Questions people ask

Does the 2,560Wh in the title match the stated capacity?

The listing gives 100Ah at 24V, and 24 x 100 is 2,400Wh. The 2,560Wh figure only works out at 25.6V, the usual nominal voltage of a 24V LiFePO4 pack. The Voltage field itself says 24 Volts.

Is this a 12V or a 24V battery?

The title, model name and Voltage field all say 24V. The "Number of Batteries" field says "1 12V batteries required" and the expansion bullet describes "HumsiENK 12V lithium batteries", so parts of the listing contradict the headline.

How large a system does the listing say it can build?

A 2S4P configuration up to a 48V (51.2V) 400Ah system for a maximum 20.48kWh of energy and 20.48kW of load power. Eight 24V 100Ah units at 2,560Wh each come to 20.48kWh; the same 2S4P arrangement of 12V 100Ah units would come to half that.

What cycle life does HumsiENK claim?

15,000+ cycles at 60% depth of discharge and 6,000+ cycles at 80% depth of discharge, with an expected lifespan of up to 10 years, as stated in the first bullet.

What temperature range and water resistance are listed?

An operating range of -4°F to 150°F, a low-temperature cut-off that shuts down charging below -4°F, and an IP67 waterproof rating. The charging cut-off is given as the same figure as the bottom of the operating range.

What warranty is included?

HumsiENK states a 5-year solution promise with professional technical support and a 24-hour online customer response. The Product Warranty field also lists 5 Years.
